It was 2:30am and my BFF and I were just getting out of work. It had been a loud, crazy night full of holiday revelers. College kids home for Christmas and adults celebrating with close friends just one last night before being preoccupied with holiday cooking and spending time with family. When we stepped out into the cold, dark night, we were greeted with a quiet, peaceful snowfall. While allowing our cars to warm up, I stepped into the street to take this photo. Now I have taken a photo of this street many times, but this night was different. Aside from the hum of our car motors, there wasn't a sound. Then it dawned on me...although it was the early AM, it was officially Christmas Eve. The calm and peacefulness of this photo warms my spirit every time I look at it. Although I did not grow up here, it is certainly the place I call home.
