MOVEMBER

I am really, truly blessed to have the best friends that will cater to my every whim. On my schedule today was a photo shoot with one of the most amazing families I know...however, one of the kiddos came down with the flu. (Poor little munchkin!) But I was ready to shoot...have no fear, a quick fun little photosession was only a phone call away. So here is our little girlie tribute to Movember.....

SENIOR YEAR!

There are exactly two "First Day of School" moments that tug at a parent's heartstrings....the first day of Kindergarten...and the first day of their child's Senior Year.

The first marks the beginning of their development, the beginning of PTA, Parent Teacher Conferences and Booster Club meetings. The latter marks the final year of a childhood, the last of all those school related events and the anticipation of seeing your child become a mature adult and move on with a life outside of the confines of your safe and loving nest.

And at the end of the year...there is always that proud moment when you get the honor of a front row seat as you witness them spread their wings and fly out on their own adventure!

WISHING HOUR!

I don't think that I will ever grow tired of these Wish Lanterns. Our community releases them at Christmas time, but last night all the guests at this lovely summer wedding reception expressed their wishes of love and happiness for the Bride and Groom and sent these lanterns floating. I took many of these shots, but this one stands out as my favorite. I was focused on the lanterns and not the crowd when I took this, but as I downloaded all the photos from the night, I discovered I caught the bride's brother and his girlfriend in a loving embrace...right smack in the middle of the commotion. I love little surprises like that!

Pink Lamb Crochet Photo Shoot

A couple of months ago I had the honor of setting up a photo shoot for Ashley Perkins of
Pink Lamb Crochet. I was able to round up four of the most amazing models any photographer could ask for!

Ashley's hand made, head bands and flower clips made the girls swoon and her caps are available in colors and styles for both girls and boys. You can check out her blog or "like" her page on Facebook. I hate to say this since it is only July, but we all know how quickly the holidays sneak up on us, and a custom, hand made item would be the perfect gift for someone on your list.

My beautiful friend, who I love dearly, is having a birthday today....may her day be filled with lots of light and love. She deserves every bit of it and more.
